I am in AWE of this woman, and plan to seek her out to tell her how much she inspires me.
Note for readers who don’t live here in Knoxville/Knox County: She is dealing with the Knoxville Police Department, while Henry’s case was handled by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Same small city, two totally separate law enforcement agencies. However, both work with the same prosecutors located within the Knox County DA’s office
Looks like this is another “unattractive victim” to Knox County authorities. Having gone to Austin-East myself this makes my skin boil… Thank you Katie for bringing light to another entire group of people (people who simply live in a certain area of a city) who get less than fair treatment by our system.
I saw this on the Knox news and thought of the Granju family.
I would stand with this woman every morning.
How very SAD that this woman has been standing ALONE! Does she have no family or friends that are willing to support her & the justice she’s seeking for her son?? I really wish that I were able to go there & stand with her.
I watched this earlier today and it just really stuck with me. It was as heartbreaking as it was awe inspiring. My heart went out to her in a deep amount of respect and sympathy. I am also left feeling very heavy – as there is no reason ANY mother should have to beg authorities to investigate their teenage sons deaths. It’s a common bond I wish neither of you had to share. Peace be with both of you!
This goes to show how “unattractive victims” are treated, whatever agency, whatever part of town. If these boys were both the damned mayors son or the police chiefs kids, you can be damned sure 100 detectives would be assigned to the case. A dragnet like no one has seen would be put on the street. Unfortunately, they were deemed, “UNATTRACTIVE” by the ugliest of the powers that be, THOSE WITH POWER< WHO ALSO DO NOT CARE.
